"But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Tim. 3:14-17).

Principle #3: Develop

A biblical worldview means that you believe the Bible is entirely true and relevant for your life today. To have a biblical worldview is to allow it to be the bedrock and foundation of all that you think, say, and do. Practically, what this means is that the way you approach every single decision in life, no matter how great or small, can and should be answered through the filter of this one important question: What does the Bible say?

The Bible informs us that the God-breathed Scriptures are sufficient to be a complete guide and thoroughly equips us for every good work. While the Bible is not intended to be a book that answers every probing question in our lives, it is sufficient to give us a basic understanding and forming principles to apply in any given situation we face.

Why Is A Biblical Worldview Important?

Every person has a certain set of beliefs that shapes his or her understanding of everything. This set of beliefs will either be shaped by Christ or by the world. "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Rom. 12:2).

Once we capture and embrace the understanding the Bible is God speaking to us, showing us how we ought to think, to act, to live, we will be in a better situation to answer life's pressing questions. In so doing, developing the saints using biblical methodologies, doing God's work God's way will look like this:

  • souls saved,
  • sanctified believers,
  • spiritual gift development of serving others by using spiritual gifts in a local church.

How Do We This?

Part of the answer lies in the fact that we are commitment to return to our ministry areas regularly to monitor growth and progress. More specifically, we:

  • follow up and demand accountability through face to face visits or even electronically through staying in contact via the internet;
  • mentoring believers and mentoring leaders;
  • discipleship, which includes teaching and catechizing.
